Dining Area during Easter 2008
Soup Kitchen
St. Francis House serves an average of 200 hot lunches
each day. These free and nutritious meals are often the only meal of the day for the poor and homeless of the area.
Daily meals are served seven days a week at 12:00 noon and 7:00 PM.

Seasonal Migrant Feeding Outreach Program - In response to the desperate conditions of many farm workers, St. Francis House, with the help of many regular volunteers
and generous donations, delivers sandwiches and provisions to the farm workers in Hastings and East Palatka. This program runs between November and May and has provided 93,000 meals annually along with personal hygiene products and clothing.

Food Pantry

St. Francis House provides food baskets to families and
 individuals in need.

Housing – Emergency Shelter

St. Francis House is the only full time emergency shelter between Jacksonville and Daytona Beach; serving St. Johns, Flagler,
Clay and Putnam Counties.

We currently have dormitory facilities to accommodate 20 men, and 8 women. Using the HUD formula, St. Johns County currently needs

over 100 emergency beds, with that number slated to grow as the county grows. St. Francis House currently
has no facilities for families seeking emergency shelter.

Client Services
Our Case Manager screens to determine our client’s individual needs. We assist the hungry and homeless to
obtain birth certificates, state identification cards for employment, and bus tokens to allow them to get to work.
We offer referrals for job programs, medical and counseling aid, housing opportunities, relocation assistance,
and other appropriate social services.
Vouchers for food and clothing are also available.

Drop In Center
We are open on a daily basis from 2:00PM to 6:00PM. During these times there are movies, books, snacks,
and a place to rest for those who need to get out of the weather.

Also during this time, the showers and laundry are open to all. The laundry is 25 cents and the showers are free.   Come on down and join us in a clean and safe environment.
